The board firms as the cellar cooperates

Closing assessment from the Department of Cultured Assets. Published at 20:00 UTC.

CT30 3,188.66 ▲ 0.27%

The floor opened cautiously and found its nerve before lunch. The Cheddar 30 closed up 0.27% at 3,188.66. Camembert led the board with a gain of 4.83%, while Squeeze reserve fell 6.29% and finished the session at 185.89 curds.

The 11:00 cellar inspection gave processed holdings a clean bill of health, and the inspectors stayed for a second plate. At 15:00 the fondue desk lowered its temperature target, a decision the committee described as well within the rind. Soft finished as the strongest sector at +3.77%, with processed the weakest at -2.87%. The mould audit at 17:30 weighed on processed names into the close.

We expect volatility to persist while the board debates the definition of a slice. We continue to rate the broad board Melt and remain cautious on Squeeze reserve. Cracker coverage is adequate. The strategic biscuit reserve was not touched.
