Sentiment cooled steadily from the opening cowbell. The Cheddar 30 closed down 0.48% at 2,958.44. Squeeze reserve led the board with a gain of 7.28%, while Bloomy reserve fell 7.59% and finished the session at 188.64 curds.

The 11:00 cellar inspection gave hard holdings a clean bill of health, and the inspectors stayed for a second plate. At 15:00 the fondue desk raised its temperature target, a decision the committee described as well within the rind. Processed finished as the strongest sector at +3.07%, with smoked the weakest at -2.58%. The whey inventory release at 17:30 lifted smoked names into the close.

Positioning looks crowded in the soft names, which tend to spread when pressed. We continue to rate the broad board Hold at Room Temperature and remain cautious on Bloomy reserve. Cracker coverage is adequate. The strategic biscuit reserve was not touched.
