Buyers return to the cheese aisle
Closing assessment from the Department of Cultured Assets. Published at 20:00 UTC.
CT30 3,122.81 ▲ 0.19%
Demand held up across most of the board. The Cheddar 30 closed up 0.19% at 3,122.81. Burrata led the board with a gain of 4.93%, while Triple cream fell 4.24% and finished the session at 112.53 curds.
The 11:00 cellar inspection gave hard holdings a clean bill of health, and the inspectors stayed for a second plate. At 15:00 the fondue desk raised its temperature target, a decision the committee described as well within the rind. Hard finished as the strongest sector at +1.94%, with processed the weakest at -0.80%. The cracker supply report at 17:30 weighed on washed-rind names into the close.
Positioning looks crowded in the soft names, which tend to spread when pressed. We continue to rate the broad board Melt and remain constructive on Burrata. Cracker coverage is adequate. The strategic biscuit reserve was not touched.
