The board firms as the cellar cooperates
Closing assessment from the Department of Cultured Assets. Published at 20:00 UTC.
CT30 2,989.84 ▲ 0.57%
Buyers were present in size and in good humour. The Cheddar 30 closed up 0.57% at 2,989.84. Rind reserve led the board with a gain of 7.04%, while Smoked gouda fell 6.91% and finished the session at 42.00 curds.
The 11:00 cellar inspection gave smoked holdings a clean bill of health, and the inspectors stayed for a second plate. At 15:00 the fondue desk lowered its temperature target, a decision the committee described as firm but yielding. Washed-rind finished as the strongest sector at +2.93%, with smoked the weakest at -1.43%. The whey inventory release at 17:30 lifted washed-rind names into the close.
Weather in the caves remains the main risk to our view. We continue to rate the broad board Melt and remain constructive on Rind reserve. Cracker coverage is adequate. The strategic biscuit reserve was not touched.
