The session began with a smell nobody wanted to name. The Cheddar 30 closed down 0.01% at 3,091.85. Gruyere led the board with a gain of 8.50%, while Taleggio fell 8.94% and finished the session at 139.73 curds.
The 11:00 cellar inspection gave blue holdings a clean bill of health, and the inspectors stayed for a second plate. At 15:00 the fondue desk raised its temperature target, a decision the committee described as firm but yielding. Fresh finished as the strongest sector at +2.41%, with washed-rind the weakest at -2.95%. The cracker supply report at 17:30 lifted soft names into the close.
Weather in the caves remains the main risk to our view. We continue to rate the broad board Hold at Room Temperature and remain cautious on Taleggio. Cracker coverage is adequate. The strategic biscuit reserve was not touched.
